I asked the Lord to help me understand His love deeper.

Maybe He’d bring more into my life, & make me a sufficient keeper

start with deepening the relationships I already had,

but His ways are not my ways and for that I am glad.

I asked the Lord to help me understand His love deeper.

Oh to learn His love, we’ve got to get steeper,

we’ve got to rise higher,

so that we can feel the intensity of true love.

We can feel true love amidst the fire,

fire brings sacrifice and sacrifice, true love.

God proves His immense love for us, that while we were still enemies, still sinners,

He would die for us.

So now I learn.

Now I wonder that maybe to go into the depths of God’s love

Isn’t to be loved more by the people around us,

but to be rejected more.

To feel what Jesus felt on the cross, yet.

Yet still love.

Then I learn deeper love isn’t found when it’s easy,

deeper love is found when it is the hardest to give, now I see.

To know Jesus’ deep incomprehensible love,

is to feel what Jesus felt.

Rejection, hatred, enemies, yet.

Yet still choose to love.

It is then you see,

you see how much more

love,

it would take more than before.
